Meet other widows and fellowship together during this delightful afternoon tea. The program will include information about a fall 2011 Bible study for widows. Pastor Leith Anderson will offer a special greeting to all.

This is the time of year when plans are being made for fall, and I am writing this letter to you on behalf of the Women’s Ministry at Wooddale. We are excited to have been able to work with the Grief Ministry in bringing comfort, encouragement and hope during this time of loss in a woman’s life. With this in mind, I would like to extend an invitation to some special events that have been designed with widows in mind.

Life takes on a different perspective at the loss of a husband. For some of you, it may be just a short time, and for some of us, it has been several years. As we move forward, many adjustments and questions arise which make change difficult. Some of you may have attended Grief Share which is a video series and small group meetings offered at Wooddale which provides support and friendship with others, as I did.

We have a few events coming up which I am inviting you to attend. On September 17, 2011, we are having a Tea from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. We would like every widow that is interested to join us and get acquainted with others who are on the same journey. Pastor Anderson will be greeting the widows. Perhaps you have a friend or neighbor who would welcome such an event, and we are encouraging you to invite her.

We have arranged to have a day and evening session for the Book/Bible study this Fall. The day session will begin on Thursday, September 29th, at 10:00 a.m. in my home (9525 Leaftop Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55347). The evening session will be led by Janet Carlyle at Wooddale on Tuesday evenings starting October 4, 2011, at 7 p.m., Room 206. Materials will be available at the first meeting. The registration of $15 includes the book, " From One Widow to Another" by Miriam Neff. Coming to the Tea in no way obligates you to be a part of this group.
