Single Moms Group
On Wednesday nights, a small circle of vibrant
women gather together to share their lives as part of
Wooddale’s InTouch Single Moms Group. Through
life circumstances, these women are doing the job of
two parents and have assumed the responsibility of
ensuring their children grow up in a Christian home.
Their journeys are challenging, but their support
for one another is amazing. The women come to
share struggles, receive advice and grow in their faith.
Many women simply come to be an encourager.
Donna, mom of three, is a charter member of In-
Touch. “What I value most is learning I am not alone
on this journey. Meeting each week has made me
stronger in my ability to parent and has brought me
closer to the Lord. I have formed deep friendships
and I know these women will be lifelong friends who
will laugh, cry and pray with me and for me.”
Erika appreciates the group’s diversity. “We all became
single moms via different circumstances, some
by our own poor choices and some by the poor
choices of others. Either way, we understand each
other’s struggles.”
Dawn entered the group at the height of her divorce.
“InTouch moms all welcomed me with smiles, open
ears, encouragement and spiritual guidance. It has
helped me become a better mom.”
Linda describes her InTouch sisters in Christ: “They
esteem their connection with other single mothers
for affirmation and accountability. And more importantly,
they walk with God, clinging to him for all
their needs as they courageously face each new day.”
