Wooddale Worldwide is the community and international outreach arm of Wooddale Church.
The purpose of Wooddale Worldwide is to develop within Wooddale people a heart for the world—a mark of discipleship (Mathew 28:19)—and to provide opportunities for them to be part of making more disciples for Jesus Christ within other cultures.
Wooddale Worldwide seeks to lessen suffering and extend real friendship while sharing the message of hope offered through Jesus Christ. We achieve this end through evangelistic and humanitarian efforts in the Twin Cities, our nation, and around the globe.
Value: Vision Driven
We believe that God is calling Wooddale Church to specific goals/initiatives aimed at taking the message of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard. We affirm that God is patient, not desiring that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9), and recognize that the birth of the Church in some cultures is rapid while in others it may be very slow.
Strategy 1
We will prayerfully and carefully ask God to direct us to the priorities He is calling us to: goals that are faith stretching and that maximize the giftedness and passions of Wooddale people.
Strategy 2
We will make long-term investments and take risks consistent with potential returns.
Value: Christian Unity
God is honored and ministry is more effective when his people are united and working in a cooperative, coordinated manner (John 17:20-23).
Strategy 1
We will pursue and encourage ministry partnerships.
Strategy 2
We will identify, recruit and place qualified individuals to act as coordinators for major programs of which we are a part.
Value: Reaching other cultures
Wooddale Worldwide is about culture not geography.
Strategy
We will take the message of Jesus Christ to people in cultural settings where Christ is not actively being lived—whether in the Twin Cities or "the ends of the earth."
Value: Respect for culture
God is the creator. His creative majesty is demonstrated in the variety of humanity and human cultures. He builds into all cultures the capability of receiving and communicating the message of Jesus Christ.
Strategy 1
We will become students of cultures, seeking to discover and use those keys from within cultures that allow us to communicate the gospel in ways that enhance understanding.
Strategy 2
We will be diligent in seeking new and innovative ways to reach cultures that have been closed or non-responsive due to social, religious, or political causes.
Strategy 3
We will be diligent in establishing and encouraging culturally relevant disciple-making communities of believers within a specific culture.
Value: Global responsibility
God’s will is that worshippers and workers come from all cultures (Revelation 7:9). The responsibility of making disciples is given to the entire body of Christ.
Strategy 1
We will provide multiple and varied ways for Wooddale people to be involved in cross-cultural ministry.
Strategy 2
We will develop innovative ways to reach those who have not had the opportunity to hear or understand the message of Jesus Christ.
Strategy 3
We will seek to develop godly and equipped leaders among highly responsive peoples.
Value: Love of Neighbor
God is love and his love is expressed by undoing the spiritual, emotional, social and physical effects of sin in the world. Following the example of Jesus and in response to his commission (John 20:21) we will seek to minister to the whole person.
Strategy 1
We will be holistic in ministry—meeting human needs while sharing the message of Jesus Christ.
Strategy 2
We will minister by patiently building relationships, and we will love even when our "message" is rejected.
Strategy 3
We will love and honor national believers as co-laborers in Christ.
