What is Baro?

 

Locally, God has brought the world to us.  Priority and effort has gone into building bridges with the Somali community.  

 

The word Baro is Somali for learn, and aligns with the overall goal to learn how to form relationships with people from other cultures. Baro seeks to prepare Wooddale Church volunteers to befriend and help our Somali neighbors adjust to life in a different culture. 


 


Prayerfully support the Baro initiatives and our Somali neighbors in Eden Prairie.

  • Monthly, meeting on the first Tuesday of every month from 7-8 p.m.
  • Wooddale Church Prayer Room

Help Somali students from kindergarten to college with school work and develop cross-cultural relationships.

  • Thursday evenings from 6-8:30 p.m. Eden Prairie Library
  • Edina schools by appointment

Through a partnership with the City of Eden Prairie, volunteers coach Somali clients in making a resume, filling out online applications and job etiquette.
