Yes! Each event will have a variety of sites, some that include manual labor and some that are less physically demanding or more relational in nature.
LOVE IN[DEED] is family-friendly and we encourage families to come and serve together. Some sites do require a minimum age due to safety concerns or the nature of the work. However, we ensure that some of the sites will be open to people of all ages.
Come dressed in weather-appropriate clothing. It is recommended to wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, as several sites will including painting, cleaning, and other work projects. Comfortable, close-toed shoes are strongly recommended. Sun-screen, a hat, and bug repellant are also good to bring/wear especially in the warmer months.
You can show up just as you are and find a place to plug in. Occasionally sites will recommend work gloves or other tools. If you can bring any such supplies to use, it will be appreciated by the sites but is not necessary to participate. The additional optional tools list for each site will be available closer to the date of the next event. Supplies for activites will be provided by the organizations we work with.
