Disciple U exists to help people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ through challenging classes and interesting seminars. Disciple U attempts to create stimulating adult learning environments that encourage participants to become more like Jesus Christ with a schedule of classes and seminars built around four distinct areas (some offered multiple times): Bible, Theology, Ministry Skills and Life Skills. Disciple U Class Greeters serve an important role by welcoming students as they arrive to classes, taking attendance, distributing nametags and helping teachers with any last minute requests. All information and training is provided by Wooddale Church. Over 90 classes and seminars are offered each year, so many volunteers are needed!

God desires every believer to be involved in the disciple-making process
(1 Peter 4:10; Matthew 28:19-20). One-to-One Discipleship is two people meeting together regularly for spiritual and personal growth. One-to-One Discipling relationships begin with volunteers completing the six-session “Discipling 101” class which is offered regularly through Wooddale’s Disciple U program, after which a careful matchmaking process is done which matches available disciplers with those who register to get involved. All curriculum resources and study materials are provided by Wooddale Church.

The One-to-One Ministry Team provides vision, leadership and direction for the One-to-One Discipleship ministry at Wooddale Church. The team meets on a monthly basis to plan, organize and pray for the One-to-One Discipleship ministry in order to make more disciples for Jesus Christ.

Anyone with an open home and a growing relationship with Christ can lead a small group. Small group leadership at Wooddale Church consists of leading and shepherding group members through the four essential goals of small group life: Community (building life-giving relationships), Transformation (becoming more like Jesus), Compassion (ministering to those who cross our path), and Mission (multiplying your ministry). Frequent leadership training seminars are offered for new leaders, as well as study resources and ongoing leadership development opportunities.

Small Group Coordiantors, or “coaches,” provide support, advice, and encouragement for small group leaders by periodically meeting with them, praying for them and helping them succeed as small group leaders. Small Group Contacts have experience with small group leadership. They also help people find small groups to join.
