The Challenge

Exercise Discernment!

May 19-25, 2012

I was 14 with a drivers permit and life was perfect. I knew the rules. I knew I was to drive directly to and from school and not pick up friends.

One day, I was talking with my girlfriends about how it would be great to ride together to the volleyball game and talk. Before I knew it, I had a car filled with friends. I was driving down an Iowa dirt road at 60 mph laughing and jerking the wheel back and forth to make it a fun ride. Within five minutes the car was stuck in the middle of a bean field.

I stood in the field kicking myself. If I would have only exercised discernment, I wouldn't be stuck in a field with a group of friends that I couldn't hide. I was caught in every way.

Exercise discernment. Don't get stuck in bad situations.
