How to Get Involved with Children's Choir

All choir workers need to be at church by 4:45 p.m. on Sundays

Choir Helpers

Helpers assist the director immensely! Their jobs range from keeping attendance records and lining up snacks to helping the director teach the music (it depends on each helper). All helpers are involved during performances in the preparation and in leading children on & off stage. Choir helpers also get to use their individual talents and abilities in a wide variety of activities such as helping with sets, props and costumes for dramas, helping in the administrative and record keeping aspects and working with children as counselors and friends.  Weekly and monthly help is needed.  Performance helpers are greatly welcome!

Drama/Stage Helpers

             People interested in working on children's musicals are needed for Spring and Christmas musicals. 

Accompanist (piano)

Accompanists are so valuable for each choir. They may be as involved in the activities of choir rehearsal time as they like. It is also fine if accompanists wish to just come each week and accompany.

Chaperones: 

             SOP choirs take a mini-tour and weekend tour each Spring.  Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize and chaperone the events!

There are just a few volunteer opportunites for the SOP choir.  All talents are needed!  Just ask!  Everyone working on the Sounds of Praise team gets to participate in regular ministry planning meetings. These meetings are a source of creativity, planning, support and fellowship for each of the volunteers and the Children's Choir program. Lasting friendships are forged during these times of working together.

The Sounds of Praise Ministry Team is unique in the opportunities it provides for the adult volunteers. It is truly a ministry team where personal growth can be experienced and where team members can become more like Christ as they belong to a vital program of training up children.
